One important thing for all classrooms is the hallmarks!
The hallmarks of reinvigorated approach to projects include:
1. projects form the centerpiece of the curriculum - they are not an add-on or extra at the end of a "real" unit.
2. Students engage in real-world activities and practice the strategies of authentic disciplines.
3. Students work collaboratively to solve problems that matter to them
4. Technology is integrated as a tool; for discovery, collaboration, and communication, taking learners places the could't otherwise go and helping reachers achieve essential learning goals in new ways.
5. Increasingly, teachers collaborate to design and implement projects that cross geographic boundaries or even jump time zones.
With these new hallmarks, the students have a chance to explore information that could have been missed in one textbook session or not brought to there attention from their teacher. Using all these components can only help to open doors for more learning for each student... "teach less, learn MORE!"
With so much technology taking over the classroom, it is important for teachers to learn the tools of technology just as much as the students. Most teachers in the classroom today were not educated on technology so using more in their own classroom helps students imagination and keeps the learning material more interesting!
Hi Courtney
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that technology improve the learning process. The fact that using technology in the classroom would improve the students’ way of thinking. Furthermore, it help the students to be more active in the classroom by sharing of what they have done with everybody.
